As a student you have the platform given by your particular and unique experience obtained during your own process of studying and learning, more or less successfully in different areas, it will be your source of resources when you need it. Of course you know your skills or abilities, your qualities; these are your powers, where you feel competent. That knowledge allows you to circumscribe the choice down to a field of professions enough defined to begin to rank options. Ok, then here you have a basis to start to determine specific careers. It is very important to define what you would like to do, which is the job where you may feel comfortable and capable but it is also very important to define careers at a practical level. Of course you are going to study aiming to be included in the work market, to generate your own economic resources. Taking this aspect in account it is good to think in what you want or what could give you a sense of personal fulfillment. That is, of course you have your own ambitions; it is ok, then it is another fundamental aspect to consider with your feet on the ground. To find a career isn't that easy but, of course it is not something impossible. Unless you have got a clear vocation or predetermination it is very difficult to find the perfect career for the perfect student, where career, desires and aspirations fit perfectly. A career includes a lot of subjects that won't be appreciated by every student. You may analyze programs, but having some tolerance to frustration because you have to know that you will have to attend subjects that won't be a pleasure for you. |
